We are Excited for our 96th Season!
Letter from the President
Get ready for a great new season of Burlington Civic Music Association. With the start of the 96th season, not only will you see five unique shows, but we also have new protocols. All our programs this coming season will be held at The Capitol Theatre. All shows will begin at 7:00pm and there will be no reserved seats.
We begin our season with “The Secret Agents” the group formed in 2018 with one mission, they have one mission only: to bring the sounds of the 60”s back into the mainstream. These five musicians on sax, trombone, guitar, bass and drums with their vocalist will share their interpretation of the music of Bobby Darin, Mel Torme’, Johnny
Rivers, The Association and more.
We next move to south of the boarder with “The Mexican Brass” These five musicians known as M5 celebrate 20 years of brass quintet performance. Classical with opera, jazz with pop- all live and lively at The Capitol.
Once again be prepared to be immersed in a top Broadway talent with “David Burnham Broadway and Beyond” David was last seen on Broadway in the mega-hit “Wicked” playing Flyero, a role he originated in the developmental workshops of the show. When he is not singing, dancing or acting, he can be found writing musicals.
Skip the worst of the winter months to let our snowbirds get away, we resume the season in March with “Invoke with Pianist, Clarice Assad” Describes as “not classical…but not, not classical (David Srebnik Sirius XM Classical producer), Invoke continues to successfully dodge even the most valiant attempts at genre classification. Joining this tour de force, pianist Clarice Assad, is a tour de force herself. Known for her musical scope and versatility, the Brazilian-American is a significant artistic voice in the classical, world music, pop, and jazz genres.
Finally, we close our 2025-26 season with “Brubeck Brothers Quartet” Who can really be prepared to hear “Take Five” by a Brubeck… Live! But we will as Dave Brubeck’s sons and their fellow artist brothers chase away the years while the audience enjoys one of the most iconic jazz pieces of all time-Take Five. Immersed in music and jazz since they were quite young, Chris once noted that out of the six siblings, four are musicians “with pretty big careers”. Chris Brubeck continues the legacy of his father. His two bands, this one and Triple Play, performed in BCM’s 2007 series. They have participated in all the major jazz festivals for from coast to coast…Newport, Montreal, Monterey and Playboy with Chris being known for doing all the arrangements, composing and doing charts for the orchestras.
I hope you agree this season of Burlington Civic Music will be another unforgettable one. Remember, all shows at The Capitol Theatre, All shows start at 7:00pm and open seating. So come early, have a drink at The Nightcap and be ready to enjoy a wonderful evening times five this season.
